Chocolatey integrates with several infrastructure automation tools!

For most of these tools, interaction with Chocolatey is done through the tool or through the tool's interfaces, such as in scripts. Under Software Center - Chocolatey you are able to access three different sections.

Packages

The Packages section allows you to install applications, and you can also copy the installation to Templates in Automation to create an automation for installation. By clicking the three dots on the left side of the package logo, user will get a menu, where they can decide between Copy to “My Templates” to make a template out of installing the package, Install package to create an automation that will install it immediately or Show details to get more details on the package.

Bundles

The Bundles section enables you to choose multiple applications and download them together, or you can copy the bundle installation to Templates in Automations to create an automation for the installation.

Availables Updates

In the Available Updates section, you can see if there are any updates available for the applications downloaded via Chocolatey. It also indicates the current installed version and which devices are impacted by the update.

Furthermore bly clicking the three dots on the left side of the package name, user will get a menu that let’s them either view update details by clicking Show update details or install the available update by clicking Update.

Deinstalling and Updating on a specific Device.

If you want to deinstall or update a software installed by Chocolatey only on a specific devices, go to the Assets and click on the hardware you want to deinstall/update the software. There will be a section Installed Chocolatey Software.

In this section you can see which version of the software you have installed and the latest version available. By clicking on the trash bin icon in the Actions column you can deinstall the software and by clicking on the round arrow next to the trash bin you can update it if an update is available.
