Problem:
Certain tasks require specific configurations for when and how often they should run on your hardware.
Solution:
Asset Management
Asset Management can be found under Administration - Settings and allows the user to add Costum Field Mapping for both Harware and Person lists. Additionally, the field Auto Assignment allows user to select when a device is assigned to a site, with the selections being:
- New Hardware: this automatically assigns devices to a site upon installing the agent for the first time
- Every Time: this automatically assignes the device to a site, whenever it is moved.
- No assignment: this automatically assigns the default site

Another setting, also under Auto assignment, is Hardware Type update configuration. This configuration controls hardware type updates from Inventory.
The selections being:
- New Hardware: hardware type will be set upon installing the agent
- Every Time: hardware type will be updated on every inventory
- Every Time including Hardware Class: hardware type AND class will be updated on every inventory.
Patch Management
This allows user to configure the source of Windows Updates, for Search and Install respectively. As well as assigning Deny and Allow lists. These settings will be applied whenever Patch Management is used in an automation, unless specified otherwise. User can choose between these sources.
- Group Policy Default:
- Use Update Service configured in your Group Policy
- WSUS:
- Use all Updates configured on your WSUS Server
- Microsoft Update:
- Use Updates for all Microsoft products including Windows, Office ..
- Windows Update:
- Use only Windows Updates

Automations
You can administer a daily search automations, by goingt to Administration - Settings and then switching to the Automations tab.

There are different possibilities for this configuration. In this screenshot the daily scan automation is executed between 00:00 and 24:00 , every 24 hours and after a minimum uptime of 90 minutes.
The maximum interval for daily scan automations is 72 hours.
Agent:
Agent allows you to configure the default settings for the agent installation. Auto update lets the user set the type of agent update that will be installed.
- No auto update: if this setting is selected, the user will have to manually update the agent
- LTS: Long time support is a version of the agent that is stable and will be supported for some time
- Current: The newest stable version of the agent
- Release Candidate: Likely to become the new version and has the latest features, but not completely stable yet
The Second Setting able to determine in Agent is Server communication.
- Allow new Agent: Enables registration of new Agents. It also allows the agent to register hardware that has already been withdrawn.
- Allow new Agent Token: Allows the agent to register hardware with an existing token and changed hardware ID.
- Allow new Hostname: In case of cloned hardware/vm where the hostname is the same as your source VM, this configuration will automatically rename your old hardware to %hostname%_OLD. The old VM gets a new token and a new hardware ID. Allow new Agent must be selected.
- Hybrid Agent Mode: It only allows you to register hardware that is already in the CMDB. "Allow new Agent Configuration" is ignored. Changes to hardware detected during inventory/metering are ignored.
